Revitalizing Downtown Lampasas
Our downtown is more than just a collection of buildings — it’s the heart of our community, a place where people meet, shop and build a future. When downtown thrives, jobs grow, young people stay or return, and our county preserves its character.

A More Efficient, Responsive Local Government
Our taxpayers deserve a county government that is lean, effective and respectful of taxpayers’ time and money. Rural Texans expect efficiency, accountability and results — not endless red tape.
1. Why are you running for Lampasas County Judge? Wooten:
I’m running because I believe our county deserves steady, transparent leadership that puts people first. I want to ensure that Lampasas remains a strong, safe, and vibrant place to live — while preserving the values and rural character that make this region special. It’s time for fresh energy and practical solutions, grounded in common sense.
2. What are your priorities if elected?
Wooten:
My top priorities include improving infrastructure, supporting law enforcement, managing growth responsibly, and ensuring our budget reflects the needs of both our citizens and first responders. I also want to make local government more responsive and easier to access — people shouldn’t have to fight to be heard.
3. What is your position on flood planning for Central Texas?
Wooten:
Flooding is a real and growing threat in Central Texas, and Lampasas County must take it seriously. We need a comprehensive flood mitigation plan — not just reactive measures after the damage is done. That means working with regional and state partners to invest in drainage improvements, natural water retention, and better emergency coordination. Proactive planning now will save lives, property, and taxpayer dollars down the line.
4. How will you support rural communities in the County?
Wooten:
Rural communities are the backbone of Lampasas County. I’ll fight to make sure they get their fair share of resources — from road maintenance to broadband access. I’ll also protect private property rights and ensure that decisions made at the courthouse reflect the needs of ranchers, farmers, and families who’ve been here for generations.
5. What makes you the right choice for County Judge?
Wooten:
I bring a strong work ethic, real-world experience, and a heart for service. I’m not a career politician — I’m a neighbor, a former Small Business Owner, a listener, and someone who will show up and do the hard work every day. I’ll bring transparency, fairness, and fiscal responsibility to the job. It’s time for leadership that listens and delivers.
